The Southeast Texas Entertainment Complex, now called the Ford Park, is located in Beaumont, Texas and is home to 12 lighted fast pitch softball and baseball fields. The complex is used for regional league play, competitive and recreational tournament play, and several annual state tournaments. Because of the abundant rainfall in Southeast Texas, the fields were constructed with a complex drainage system, artificial turf infield, and 3 inch layer of engineered dirt covered with outfield sod designed to wick away moisture. Allco’s recommendation for poured-in-place concrete grandstands is creatively covered in order to protect the crowd from action escaping the field as well as heat from the brutal Texas sun. Allco developed the complex with restrooms, concession stand, multipurpose storage, an administration facility, and 5 acres of paving. In 2000, Allco was subsequently asked to construct a R.V. Park and an adjoining bridge which connects the Park to the other Complex features. The projects, although individually awarded, transformed 75 acres of East Jefferson County into a recreation and activity complex where the community can enjoy entertainment, sports and the outdoors. Each of Allco’s four divisions was utilized to develop this enhancement for the community.
